Beef at Low Crag Farm
Cattle at Low Crag Farm

The Lartington Lamb Low Crag Farm also has a beef enterprise with a herd of 40 suckler cows. The calves remain with their mothers from birth to approximately 9 months old consuming nothing more than mothers milk and fresh grass. The female calves are either kept for replacements to the herd or are sold at 18 months old for breeding or for beef. The bull calves are kept entire (i.e. are not castrated), and are fattened for sale as beef at approximately 12 months of age.
